About
Progressive Online Coaching was founded by Benjamin Calder-Lee to create a coaching service built on results, trust, and an individualised approach to training. With over 7 years of competitive experience, he is a 4-time New Zealand Level Powerlifter who has dedicated his career to the sport, both on and off the platform. He holds a Bachelor of Sport Coaching and has served as the New Zealand Powerlifting Assistant Coach in 2023 and 2025.
At the core of Progressive Online Coaching is the Progressive Method, inspired by the ancient story of Milo and the Bull, a young wrestler who carried a calf on his shoulders every day. As the calf grew, so did Milo's strength. Day by day, the load increased. Day by day, he adapted. Day by day, he got stronger. This is progressive overload in its purest form, and it underpins everything within the coaching process, doing more work over time, building strength through consistency, and adapting to increasing demands.
A genuine commitment sits at the core of the service, to help every client progress and improve. Results are the cornerstone of the philosophy. Athletes have been coached to 200kg+ squats, 180kg+ bench presses, and 250kg+ deadlifts in competition. From first-time competitors to national-level lifters, Progressive Online Coaching is built to support anyone ready to take their training seriously.

The Philosophy
Inspired by the ancient story of Milo and the Bull, a young wrestler who carried a calf on his shoulders every day. As the calf grew, so did Milo's strength. Day by day, the load increased. Day by day, he adapted, and Milo got stronger.
This is progressive overload in its purest form. It's the foundation of everything we do. Doing more work over time. Progressive coaching. Always moving forward. Progressive work. Progressive results.
"Strength isn't built in weeks. It's built through consistent work over time."
